ABOUT THE ALASKA MARINE SCIENCE SYMPOSIUM

AMSS 2024 will be an in-person event. We will be returning to the Captain Cook for the plenary sessions and hosting the poster sessions at the Egan Center.

The Alaska Marine Science Symposium (AMSS), Alaska’s premier marine research conference, has been bringing together scientists, educators, resource managers, students, and interested public for over thirty years to discuss the latest marine research being conducted in Alaskan waters. Over 700 people attend this 4-day long conference held annually during the month of January.

THE PLENARY SESSIONS WILL BE HELD AT THE CAPTAIN COOK. THE POSTER SESSIONS WILL BE HELD AT THE EGAN CIVIC CENTER.

 2024 Symposium Details

  • The 2024 Alaska Marine Science Symposium will begin registration in of October, 2023.

  • To take advantage of the early bird online registration, submit by December 31, 2023. Online registration closes January 22, 2024. Registration for the event may also be done during the week of the symposium for the at the door fee.

  • The early-bird registration fee is $150 for those who register before December 31, 2023. For those who register after the fee will increase to $200. Students, media, educators (K-12), volunteers, and contributors will continue to be free as in past symposia.

  • The Alaska Marine Science Symposium will be held at the jointly at the Captain Cook Hotel and the Egan Civic Center. All keynotes, presentations, oral presentations and workshops will be held at the Captain Cook. The poster sessions will be held at the Egan Civic Center.   • The 2024 Alaska Marine Science Symposium will be an in-person event with keynote, plenary, and poster sessions.
